Because my old Nexus S has gone to shit after two years so...
Does anyone know much about phones these days?
I was looking at the LG Nexus 4 (Sticking with google flagships) but there's a lack of 4g LTE but i'm not so worried with the DC-HSPA+ being available. On screen buttons might annoy me though.
Was also looking at the Samsung Galaxy S3 but it's a bit dated now and i've heard (and researched) some problems with it. Like call quality/volume, RAM (comparitively only 1gb compared to the nexus 4's 2 gb) plus seeing only 200 mb of free ram (ish) after the touchqiz bloatware. Which i don't want. Keep in mind i'm talking about the international (quad core) 4g LTE s3.
Was also thinking of shelling out for the HTC One which is like ranked at the top of every list of phones from basically everywhere - and it looks fantastic, but at the price point ($800+) compared to the Nexus 4's ($350+) i don't know if it's worth the extra $500 or so.
And a bunch of others like the HTC One X, Droid DNA etc. Someone help me?!
I'm obviously leaning towards the Nexus 4 because of the quadcore 1.5ghz processor and the 2gb of RAM and the exceptional screen, with a skinned version of android 4.2. for only 350 - seems pretty damn good.
Seriously someone help.

Get the Nexus 4, both me the wife and my buddies have the phone and we couldn't be happier with the phone. I've never had an issue with the phone since I've had it.

No matter what phone you get there will always be issues so you've gotta figure out whether the issues of each phone are worth living with. No such thing as a perfect phone. And so far the Galaxy S3 is ranked higher than something like that shittyass iphone 5.
Oh if you want you can hold out another week and get the Galaxy S4. Not sure when it comes out in Australia but here in the US they start selling April 30 and May 1st.

I think you're wrong about those dates mate. You've been able to buy the s4 for a few days here from samsung and all other retailers as of today (24th). And we usually get things late.
But i wasn't really impressed with the reviews from the s4. It's ranked as highly and sometimes lower as the nexus 4.

well I was talking US dates of course. Good to know y'all got it early this time around. I'm only interested in the 13MP camera on there, but I don't see that as a dealbreaker for me relying less on my digital camera that I use so much.

I'm getting a new s2 thanks to insurance. I'm tossing up whether to sell it and get an s3. But really I have no major issues with the s2 and could wait a year for the s4 to drop in price.

well for the price you get amazing frontspeaker setup, superb build quality and a big community with custom roms if you are into this...
if thats still not worth it, then i'd go for the htc butterfly, basically the same full hd display, build quality nearly as good (still a class above everything samsung has built) and same big community.

Nope, never had that happen. Only issues I get is lack of service in some areas, and that's a carrier thing.

Damn how fat are you??? lol
Or are S3s really not that durable???
I've had 2 LG G2X (or Optimus G2X I think as it's known internationally) and they have been dropped and sat on so many times yet I've never had any major damage to either of them. Just a few scratches here and there, and one major one on each of them.
The only reason I had to get a 2nd one is because my 1st one had some water damage. It actually got wet at last year's HTID In The Sun waterpark party and one plastic bag was not enough lol. Was fine when I let it dry for 2 days but a couple of months later I got caught in a rainstorm, and it didn't get that wet but I get it was offset by the previous time and it never recovered.
