I was just wondering where would be the best place to start and look for some sort of Cubase tuition. Is there anywhere that offer a short course (3 days/weekend) where they can teach you a few tricks etc or any one know of any place like this?

I'll give you some back round and then you might understand why I ask. I've been in to Hardcore, or Happy Hardcore as it was called when I was in my teens for, for years. But I was also into all types of music and my dad being a musician I learned guitar, bass a bit of keys & drums. So when I was at college doing music it was more playing instrument based and all the recording I learnt was via live instruments and DI's straight in to cubase so not too much net for VST's and warping sounds etc. So bascially I know my way round cubase quite well and know how to mix shit down band wise, it's just that when I'm making my own UK Hardcore tracks I'm struggling to get the same level of sound via mixdowns and unsure how to do certain things! I mean I can get beats, bass and leads going and know all about VST's and all that jazz, I'm just struggling with a few things and wondered if any body knew of anywhere that can offer tuition, or where to point me

Thanks in advance for any replies :-)

Could you point out to any specific effects you'd like to re-create? (youtube vids ,etc.)
I also work with Cubase and can play the guitar and keyboard and know that EDM and General Rock music are like 2 different schools of thought, but have been at this long enough to kinda know my way around both. If you want, check out my youtube channel as it's got complete tracks from me and if there's anything there worth dissecting, I'll be glad to help you out.

Go and have a few days with an engineer that can show you the ropes. I have been in with Gaz Fracus and Joey Riot in the past. Both are very very good at explaining what they are doing and will answer any questions you have.

here we go! it's a slightly older version of cubase that's in the video - but the functions and processes are pretty much the same

I'm a cubase user also, i'm on 5 so if there is anything I can do to help questions wise I'd be happy to pitch in! :)
