Yes. Hands Up borrows from Hardstyle and UK Hardcore a lot IMO, sounds like 150bpm UK Hardcore. Euro Dance is more... Eurovision Song Contest bred with House/Trance/Happy Hardcore. :P

Hands up dont use 4x4 beat (not sure if correct term), its more hardstyle orientated.

Anyway, my guess is that they dont use the same kick pattern

It is 4x4 sometimes, they do often use triplets though. Hands up is stuff like Cascada, Bass Hunter etc.

Hands up mainly uses more detuned saw leads, lush chorded leads and the productions are usually very bass heavy, pretty much of the tracks uses hard stomping big clubby layered kicks. The vocals in the tracks are usually either serious or pure cheese.
Eurodance mainly uses very thin saw/square leads with minimal detune, bouncy riff patterns and very low growling bass in the tracks. The kicks tend to have a sucking effect like those psytrance/hard house kicks. The vocals tend to have a dark feel to the tracks.
I think that's as detail as I can explain from what I've heard throughout the years!

Yes, the difference is that 'Hands Up' is an awful name for a genre. Also if there wasn't a difference the invention of the name 'Hands Up' for a genre that already exists would be pointless.

Wasn't hands up initially called commercial trance/dancecore?
I was pmsl when a mate of mine told me it was from then onwards (around '06-'07) to be known as hands up! xD
