Here's a WIP I've been working on. No where near finished, but I'd love to get opinions, tips, tricks, advice, etc.
Notes:
- I'm still working on the kick roll on the build up. It's a little tricky to mix that down without losing the punch.
- Working on my sweeps still. I can't seem to make a decent one, so for the sake of the WIP, I used White Noise.

Right now after listening to the track from my monitors.
I feel that the kicks in the track are drown out and lack power.
It'll be best to work on this right now than the other hat tricks by viewing Alex BassJunkie's punchy kick tutorial and correcting it first:
The lead is somehow fighting with the bass & kick, maybe try applying a hi-pass filter at around 120-200 Hz region for the lead to give them some space.

Hey, thanks for the tips!
I didn't get a chance to watch the video due to not having internet at home at the moment, and having to leave my friend's, but I did what I could based on what I've read.
I tried punching up the kicks, it definitely sounds thicker. Here's an updated WIP.

It's hard to comment because the mastering you've applied is ruining your mix. Send us an umastered version and I'd be happy to give some feedback. :)

It is unmastered! This is just my mixdown. I'm still a novice, so I'm not sure how to go about mastering a track, haha. But any tips, tricks, feedback/critique you can give me will be VERY much appreciated! :)

The brickwall you've got on the master out is making mincemeat of this at the moment, mate. Although there's probably a few EQ issues at the bottom end as well, I reckon you'll see that magically transform into something much better when you sort out the limiting.
If you're using FL Studio, check there's no Fruity Limiter on the master mixer track. It defaults to putting one on there I think.
Anyway, overall that isn't bad at all. Synths are all nice, melody's simplistic but works. Keep at it! (And fix the compression!!)

Still a bit new to using a forum again, so forgive me for not using quotes and the like!
FunDaBounce: I'm using FL Studio, so I'm relying on plug-ins haha.
Audio Warfare: Yeah, seems I have a limiter on the master by default! I'm not at home at the moment, so I can't tell you the results of taking it off, but I'll come back when I can! Going back and forth without internet at the moment! xP
Elliot: Thanks for the mixing/mastering critique! I'll check out the low-end eq's and pay more attention to them, and I'll take off the Limiter on the Master.
I really appreciate the critique, everyone! I very much appreciate it!

You definitely need to take that off and you'll probably find it effects your mix a lot so may need to go back to the drawing board a bit. You do use a limiter for a master but if you don't know why or how I'd steer well clear for now. Once you take that off you'll need to make sure absolutely nothing is clipping the master channel (going above 0db). It'll probably sound quieter once you're done but don't worry, that'll get sorted in a master.
Once you've done it and patched up your mix feel free to give me a shout. Be happy to give some advice and even do a quick DJ master for you if you want.

White noise is still the fundamental waveform for sweeps. If you're not happy with the sound you might be doing something wrong.
This is how I get simple noise sweeps in FL:
- Use 3xOsc with all oscillators set to white noise (I think you can default the rest of the settings and still end up with a fine result but I'll test it when I can)
- Link the 3xOsc chan to a mixer insert and put a Fruity Filter on the insert track
- Can't remember the exact Filter settings here but I think you want LP and BP all the way to the left and to automate HP
- Draw an upwards or downwards pattern of some kind in the automation track
I don't know how experienced you are with FL btw so if some of that doesn't make sense, I'll explain it better. :)

Audio Warfare: I'll most likely take you up on that advice. Whenever I can get a solid connection again, I'll hit you up. I'll DM you for contact info. :D
Elliot: I understand, haha. I've been on and off with production for a while, but I'm trying to seriously get back in the game! I'll give that method a shot when I can and will let you know the results!
Again, thank you all for all the help! I really appreciate everything!
