What's the technical process behind distorting kicks to get a good, meaty sound? What kinds of distortion are used, how are they combined, what kind of source oscillators are used for the kicks, and so on? Clipping only goes so far in terms of possible sounds (and not very far at that).
I ask because I'm trying to build a synth in Reaktor 5 that generates hardcore kicks (the following image will probably just confuse you, but it's where I currently stand; note the lack of anything filter or distortion related).

I've never made kicks before using synth's but I was looking at this the other day and it looks really good. Nice powerful kick distortion. Unfortunately I don't know the VST and don't have it :(
