How does one make a kick like this at 1.57 it's like a knocking type, is it filtering or something. Ive tried using a 909 kick an adding a bit of distortion but it sounds too much like hardstyle of gabba then...

Have you tried pulling out the EQ and messing around with the mid-range? I've been able to get a "knocking" sound similar to that by boosting between 500Hz and 1.6Khz (albeit not that entire range, although you can try that if you want!)!
Sorry in advance if that's not what you're looking for (or it doesn't work).

I tried an 808 kick an it sounds quite good now...
Had to layer a few though !
