This is my remix of Gammer - Take Control This track was extrmemely fun to produce. Starting with the melody, I built around the drop and ended up with something of a journey throughout the breakdown. The switch from slow breaks and moving into a Drum 'n' Bass drop, for me, was pretty awesome from a production point of view.
The track also gave me an excuse to experiment like crazy. I've used pitch bends for the build ups and transitions, new synthesizers and sounds and, most fun of all, SAMPLING!! I've sampled so many various things to get the right sounds. I sampled an orchestral horn from Youtube, a glorious vocal sample from an anime soundtrack (providing the breath-like pads) and layered them at different octaves for a deep breakdown, a guitar from another soundtrack to the same anime, and various other stuff giving it variety and depth. What I had in the end was a remix sounding tribal and Safari-African style at times, of a track which originally sounded electronic and processed.
The artwork was drawn to represent Ravefox mixing infront of a strobe light background. The art took about a week to produce and required pencil, ink, and then photoshop to complete. The lighting on the android and on the CDJ's were hardest to accomplish. Safe to surmise that I lack a lot of skill that others possess when it comes to this sort of thing. But I try nonetheless! ;)
I'm pleased with the outcome and hope that you enjoy the track and artwork! Please note, you can download the wave above. Downloading direct from Soundcloud will give you the 320kbps MP3.
