Right, I need a very basic little program that allows you to do really basic audio odd-jobs. Like, converting from a WAV to MP3.
I've had loads of crappy little temporary trial things over the years. Just got my laptop back (colossal hard drive collapse) and I want to treat her properly this time! Anyone know of a cheeky little program that fits the bill?

well I use my CD-ripping software for my conversions, Easy CD-DA Extractor. It costs between 25-40 euro depending on if you pay for a year or a lifetime free updates. - http://www.poikosoft.com/
I also got FormatFactory, it's free and can even do movies (I have not properly tested it, but the movies where itchy work :/ ) - http://www.formatoz.com/

when you: save as > just change the file type :)

I just used DVDVideosoft.com to download a 3gpp converter. They offer all sorts of video and audio converters, as well as editors. Although I'm not sure how well it works as after using it a second or 3rd time they would not open correctly. But it seems like a decent program, the issue may just be an isolated incident with my computer which has been acting up in the last couple of days.

i sometimes use avs video converter you can rip audio from videos into wav or mp3

I use FL for that kinda thing, but I totally totally ABSOLUETLY recommend DVDvideoSoft. It has everything you need in one package. Video to MP3, Youtube to iPod, MP3 converters, absolutely everything. Its very versatile, convenient and generally fantastic.
Completely free too, no trial business.

Ps. This isnt software that will spam the **** out of your PC, its fantastic that way.
