well I kinda have to agree with smoogie to some extent. Hardcore is so much more than UK Hardcore and breaks. I hate you for quiting making hardcore for the wrong reason.

Not being able to draw inspiration and losing your passion aren't the right reasons?

Hey Influx! Long time no see!
Now on the track; It's a really nice track and I LOVE those drum sounds, but the beat is a bit dull imo. Needs more shuffling percussion moving in the background so the beat flows more than it does now. Don't be afraid of using some classic breaks aswell.
It also sounds like it's in 4step at slow pace, Dubstep is in 2step at 140 bpm.
Also, some subby "wobbles" would be cool aswell. Not that hard stuff, just some cool "wobble" that makes the bassline flow. Like some detuned sines or saws with mid/high cut. It adds a lot of motion to the bass.
Good to hear from you, again, Andy! Peance.

...What are the right reasons?
That's a VERY valid reason.

oh, and here I thought you left Hardcore for the same reason as everyone else did. The people in the scene.
Anyways, What exactly did you try to produce? Uk Hardcore? a little Gabber? There's tons of more hardcore styles you could try before saying **** all with hardcore. Or is Lilley right? If you can't get money or fame, you left?
Like I said earlier, who needs to stick to a norm just to produce a specific genre?

What's the point if i didn't enjoy it any more though?
LOL... i never HAD money or fame so it's a bit of a stretch to think i left because i didn't get it. Nobody gets into hardcore for money anyway. It only takes one release to know how little money there is in it, and i had over 30.
...What a discussion for a minute and seventeen seconds of music that isn't hardcore :/

Fair play if you actually didn't like any of it. I just hate it when some of the people who left the scene did it because of the people. Just because there's douchebags in your closest scene, does it mean that everyone else is. And no, don't include me into that circuit, I've barely met anyone who actually likes hardcore like me :P

True, you're no Sam 'Orbit1' Acolyte. You're still here talking with us dead beats ;)

To me it started because someone said it wasn't dubstep enough :P (looks at Audio Warfare)

Funny how Seduction 'left' the scene once it no longer was of interest but as soon as it is popular again they return with the dedicated artists working during the quiet years. Was the same in the early 2000s, the big names 'left' and then returned once it was safe to do so. I wonder how many people know that Sy & Unknown worked in Hard House during the early 2000s yet it dosn't even say on their discogs page.
Most of the big artists where in it for the money and they made the same shit over and over again. Dubstep seems to be their new project and soon we will have a comercial Dubstep to aim at the 14-19 year olds like Raverbaby did in the last decade

I usually ignore what you say because mostly it's bullcrap according to my elitism lol but that is awfully true, as I am a fan of "pure" Dubstep

I love the take on the genre. It's a little too slow (Dubstep is generally around 140 Bpm.) Try and make it a little more hard hitting because it sounds (as been said before) like slowed down electro or electro house.

Yeah i'm getting that the feel is just that it's slow electro house. I may have to change the tempo around a bit.
Although atm it's at 90bpm (in 4/8 time), and i've heard (albeit more commercial) dubstep at around 110 bpm 4/4 time. I think it was at 4/4 i can't remember i'd have to go check. But i may have to swing it back to 4/4 time. I dunno. *throws hands up in the air*
Maybe even just incporporating some more dubsteppy sounds will change it.

Soon? LOL
It's true that a genre is close to death every time Scooter comes into play.
