don't think its going to be actual "DJ"s though Wilky, I think its more going to be looking for producers, the "press report" is either being misunderstood or misrepresented I expect - simon clearly got the idea after the whole AVICII fiasco.
they are looking for something fresh and different because X factor is the same style each year, the way to do that is to stop looking at the singers, who all sing the same thing and look for new producers or "DJs" like David Guetta, Skrillex if you catch my drift...
thats my take on it anyway - nobody would watch it if it was about mixing and turntablism (no sheeple would anyway...and thats what they want)

I re-posted this via Facebook haha. I think with all them sort of shows with manufactured singer's ect ect there's always someone pulling the string and making the final decisions.
I don't think this will be much different but will be interesting seeing the out come of the show and what genre's will be the most popular.

good find wilky
I have a feeling it will be a mixture of both, but who knows. just for laughs I'd like to see that gayass dj pauly d from jersey shore to enter just to get shot down.
Also I'm curious to see who the judges will be.

It's a Uk think so far by the looks of things (would probably have to be since the american media are so scared of dance music :P )
So I expect it will be Simon, A "famous producer" probably guetta or someone - and a 'Celeb' (Cheryl Cole or the like) doesnt matter who, just someone the moronic trendies will recognise.

we have X-Factor here in the US. and it's a perfect time for something like this to be broadcast in the US as Electronic music is at its peak in the US, even more popular than what it was at the millennium.

I remember this, Sister Bliss got straight to the heart of DJ'ing with her protege and took her clothes shopping, Mr C just looked ****ed all the time, Tom Middleton took the bloke he was looking after and sampled the sound of a blade of grass brushing against a railing, a made a tune out of it. And Roni Size, was just Roni Size.
This new looks terrible, I wish that parasite Cowell would leave a culture he knows nothing about instead of milking it for cash. Awful news.

What is a DJ and what makes a good DJ varies so much between people, countries, age range and genres.
What makes a good DJ? Turntablism? Mixing? Using vinyl?
While I'm all for promoting DJ's it sounds like a massive commercialism of something these guys don't understand, I just pray it is done correctly.
