Sounds pretty expensive, silver. But thank you very much for information
There are no pressing costs for digital releases, you still might have to get a remix and mastering but pressing is nothing basically.
Like other people said, if you want to run a digital label you need brandage, promotion and a following, for example Next Generation, RaverBaby or HTID are also brands, so anything released or promoted under those names has a certain level of standard the release should expect.
If you are an up and coming artist making your own label vs getting your track signed to an existing label is going to be far quicker for you to be noticed (and it turn get paid and everything that goes along with it), as it is basically saying artist X's music is good enough to be released on X label.
Actually I've just found out my boss is staying in the army for only 1 more year (i expected he'd keep up with it) so tht I'll keep up with releasing on other labels until then (and for free on his label).
Thank you!

Bandcamp tax is 15% per release + PayPal tax makes it altogether 24,8%. You earn $1,13 out of 1,49 total price.

I said nearly. AKA a whole lot more than you're gonna get on a hardcore label.

I agree. I don't think I'd like someone having certain rights over my music.
If you don't want to sell as many units or get played out by bigger DJ's you need to bite the bullet, creating a digital label does not instantly mean you are going to sell tunes or get DJ's to play your tunes not matter how good the tune is.

With their own label they may sell less copies of tracks, but they'll make a lot more back from the copies they sell. Starting by getting promoted via big names would be a helpful start, then falling back on your own label to sell once you get out there.

lol that's not pretty nearly (75 vs 100). But I see your point, and yes, labels bring much profit

Excuse my wording then sorry lol. Just trying to say you're gonna make more overall on your own. Also the paypal tax should be lower, should be 3-5% I read there's also a micropayments option you can use in Paypal to half your fees. 20/80 split with the service fee is a LOT better than 50/50 60/40 or 30/70 as you get with TiD, Beatport etc (assuming you run the label, if not, the label cut will bring this lower as well).

I see ur point. Of course, it apparently is more profitable to release on your own. But thatd take same time and cash that labels use to get same overall profit. Itd be quite exhausting, but I see what you're trying to say and I agree. =)
