technically I never said they were good examples of good british comedy - they are just ones that would have gone down well.

for my taste they are good examples - but thats just it, its where comical taste comes in!

Coupling (UK) went down an absolute storm when it aired on BBC America.....when they later aired Coupling US even the american's were like "what the **** have you done?!" lol

Try 'Peep Show'.

Ricky Gervais based the Office on a real life documentary, and the awkward more bleak humour reflected the banality and tedium of Britsh office life. After all the best comedy mirrors real life. Personally I find the characters a lot more believable and funnier than the American version. That said, I was expecting to hate the American one, but thought it was ok, albeit in a more obvious way.
I find most American comedy shit, however, Curb Your Enthusiam, It's Always Sunny in philedelphia, Parks and Recreation and Arrested Develpoment are awesome.

Agreed! And two cracking sets of tits in Two Pints as well. Even if one of them does have the voice of a nine year old. Well I say 'even'. I probably mean 'because'.

Peep Show is absolutely superb. I can't think of much (British produced) comedy that's better or more original. It is staggeringly good. Not sure it'd go down well in The States.

Peep Show is the best English comedy that i can think of, certainly in recent times anyway.

Yeah i don't think it would, the humour is very English.

Yeh Peep Show's comedy genius. Can't imagine the americans would get it though. Just like they didn't get the point of The Office. I mean, have you watched the American version!? Oh dear...

Just finished the Season 7 of the American version, and started watching Season 1 of the British version.

It's pretty much the same jokes/storyline. I dont see how one can be better then the other if its the samething.
