Haha it's the main thing that puts me off wanting kids. They're lovely and all until they make a noise and bugger me do they know how to do that well.

at least its for a good reason - we pay a license fee that runs Iplayer (and other BBC services), if other people could (which they can) access it, that would mean that users in the UK are paying for a service that other countries who don't pay our license fee can use!

I've changed my habbits and noise levels quite a bit now but I wish they would have just talked to me.
Confront them about it! I can't STAND those kinds of people. Thankfully my neighbours are cool, I'll crank my music so loud that the bass shakes my windows but at 10 I lower it down a fair bit and by 11 it's only audible to me. Those are just my personal rules, I'd take massive offense if they pulled something like that on me and I'd be right around their house talking to them about it if I got a letter through, I cannot take that kind of two-faced behaviour.

Heh, I can't say I can relate to that. It's nothing like my experience of living in the UK, though maybe that's because I'm from the North. Noise like that is routine where I live, in the summer at least.

^ yeah, it's going to come down to where you are too, personal experiences are going to vary :)
I think age is a rather large factor into this, the older generation had (or have! sorry older generation! lol) very victorian values..children seen and not heard, don't show more skin than your face..blah blah - britains easily loosening up though :)

Yeah, I reckon Acid House culture has played a big part in Britain losing the stiff upper lip. Maybe after a few more "rave-waves" we'll become fairly free-spirited

Some cheek they have being nicey nicey to your face but they get you reported, i wouldn't talk to them, i reckon i'd say to them wat the **** they were playing at, especially since you said to them to let you know if you were making to much noise
