Do you have a limiter on the master channel? This would prevent you from going into reds even though levels would be far above 0dB if it wasn't on, and this can cause some bad sound.

Distortion can occur anywhere in the signal chain, it dosn't have to be at the master output.

Hard2Get is right. Make sure no sound reaches the red area in any point of its processing and you should have no distortion at all.

How I do it normally. Get rid of the Limiter, and level the master channel so it never hits red. That should give you the raw wave file ready for mastering external to FL.

make sure that also no mixer track is in red while on its standard volume. Also, watch out ur distortion and limiter plugins on the distorted mixer tracks.
Other than that, i cant help u.

That's what digital clipping sounds like.

if it's not in the red..... then parts of the frequency spectrum may be clashing,
for eg: if you have too much rasp on the higher frequencies of the bass, it will make the high end of the lead sound like its distorted to an untrained ear
play the channels 2 at a time & see if they clash with each other

Maybe it's a processor that doesn't have enough power to process your project and when lead starts playing you hear "clicking".

Stutter is quite different to distortion or clipping :D

Sure, but some soundcards have problems with low asio buffer, which results in signal clicking with little cpu overloading, not stuttering. Or just vst patch he uses already has some amount of distortion.

Its not stuttering (If that mean like whena cd skips?) Ive seen a video on youtube since and the boy speaks about his piano piece buffering and it sound similar, When i export the song and its rendered the problem goes away which is fine but Its hard to hear clear while in FL. I'm using a Maya 44 soundcard at the moment btw thanks for the feedback guys !!!!
