I work on the bass and melody at the same time. I start putting notes together for the main melody whilst adding in bass notes underneath that fit. I might create several variations of the melody and choose the best one. What order I do the rest in varies. That's assuming I get that far as usually I just create loads of melodies and never finish the songs.

I start with whatever I have an idea for first. That would generally be a riff, chords some funky sound or a sample even. Then I just start building around that playing tt back and thinking what would flow into and out of that section. Then at the end I'll add all the effects and do the final mix work (I tend to mix as I go).

My bread and butter synths are Sylenth1, Albino 3, Massive, V Station, Nexus and Phoscyon (this one is just for acid lines).
