I have only been a dj for 9 months so I'm still learning. When I mix sometimes I heare a flanging noise when the beats are matched i don't heare it anywhere else it this because I got a cheap mixer (numark im9 don't buy this mixer it's crap) where as the people I listen all have pioneer djm 800 or is there something I'm not doin?

from my understanding its frequencys clashing - do you use EQ's when you're mixing? - if not its time to start twisting some knobs! :) don't just mix the songs using the crossfader, mix them using the Hi's Low's and mids too!
ie:
song 1 playing, bring song 2 in but bring it in with the bass and mids cut out, as you fade the song in, bring the bass and mids up, whilst bring song 1's bass and mids down and fading that one out
experiment, see what works best with the songs you're using!

That might be something to do with it as I only bring the bass down and cross that over I will try using the mids as well thanks for your help.
