I have done this song one year ago which my friends played in clubs and people seemed to really like it! I was rather proud of what I had done, but the song was never really finished. Vocals were always missing (until today) and the whole production - I didn't really like it. It sounded kind of cheap!

Later, since people liked it, I decided to re-do the whole song which ended up sounding much better and had a more "clear" or "clean" production, and was played in clubs again by my friends.

But then came the moment again were I was dissatisfied with what I did. So I have redone the whole track again (the 3rd time) a couple of months ago.

Production-wise it sounds perfect now, very clean sound, very loud volume, but I absolutely don't like what has happened to the whole track. I put some new ideas in there, but I'm listening to the second version all the time, and I love it much more, it just has more "vibe", more spirit you know.

I've ended up with a complete...chaos! Things are spread everywhere on my computer. I'm sure you guys know this feeling! Dozens of half-started songs, which have been desperately given up, but none which is finished. I would really love to finish this track and maybe release it, but I have no idea where to start. There's always a moment where I reach this point when I'm completely desperate and give up everything, and I don't even know why.

And now I don't even know what the point of all of this is hehe. I just had to write it down somewhere I guess ;)
But what would you guys do?

I wanted to start my own label in September, and I had planned all of this already earlier this year. It's all very Housey/Trancey with bits of Oldskool vibes and a little bit of everything :)

I have an exact image of what image I'd like to give and how all of this should look - but somehow it is really hard work! I wish I had some support sometimes

perfection doesn't always mean that it's good. You can almost compare it to evolution.

Usually evolution is adaptation. You adapt to survive in your particular environment. But if you move away from that environment to quick, you're dead :( This can be true about the animals that live on Madagascar and that little island Darwin was fond of (gulapacos whatever it was called).

But us humans then? Well, we do have our brains, but our bodies aren't top notch when it comes to evolution. Like rats, we adapt to any kind of environment so... what the **** am I on about?

Bottomline is. Older is better :P

To be honest, how many liked the 1st, 2nd and the 3rd version?

Don't try to be picky. Trial & Error usually pays off. If Shigeru Miyamoto was picky, we'd have 128 different version... versions of Super Mario Bros... that we actualyl do :P

Thanks, if it ever works! I have found a very particular sound which I would really like to spread you know.

I like your comparison! I remember once reading that all producers are in a "volume-war" at the moment, and it's true that everyone tried to make their tracks louder, but still some top-producers like Paul Kalkbrenner just ignore that, which is fine!

But see, I don't know where to start again. Also, I would love to collab with someone one day. You can learn something from each other, it helps so much I can imagine.
