I don't think it's possible to do exactly what you want mate. I think you're gonna have to sacrifice something either way, like:

CDJs and Virtual DJ as mixer.
Virtual DJ decks and your mixer.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see you being able to get tracks from your laptop on to your physical set up. Have you heard of software like Traktor? Maybe that would be better for you.

I know what you mean though, would be nice to not have to fcuk about with CDs all the time, ay?

I believe you need a 4 or 8 channel I/O mixer. I actually looked into it to use Traktor for effects but still mix with my CDJs and mixer and that's what I needed, but unfortunately after investigating prices getting a I/O was not worth the money just to add effects. It may be worthwhile for you to invest in one depending on what you want to do (it should say in the user manual for Virtual DJ if this is the way to do it), but be warned from what I saw it's not cheap at all.

The VDJ forumas can be quite useful for this kind of info, example:

http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/125287/Hardware_Technical_Support/cdj___mixer_to_vdj_.html

From my understanding it works the same as Traktor, you either need a soundcard with 4 ins and 4 outs or 8 channel I/O device to run everything in. But if the only reason you want to do it is to play your tracks directly it will be a very expensive exercise, I'll copy all your music to disc for half the price, then save the other half for an I/O to use my traktor effects ;)
