I could put a sample into say, C4, and it would pitch shift it up or down depending on what I do in the piano roll? If yes, is there one that's freeware? I hope this isn't too confusing. Lol.

There is free samplers, just google for them.

I'm using FL Studios 9. And can soundfont players play any sound files other than sf2 files? Thanks for the replies!

FL has it's own sampler, i havent used samples this way, for a while, so dunno whether FL's sampler has improved or not?

As far as I know it, it was always good. I used to have problems limiting sounds' durations (in Piano Roll) for most of the WAVs and all MP3s but then I figured out u just need to enable ADSR (in FL its DAHDSR) and then use the piano roll for durations. There are some other options as well but I prefer using real FX.

I wasn't saying you should use the sound font player as a sampler lol. There is normal samplers there.
