Right, the club I'm playing in July has a Pioneer CDJ setup but the promoter didn't know which type they are. I'm assuming they're CDJ-1000 MK3's as most places have them these days.

My question is regarding the cue/play/pause situation.

My Axis 9's have a stop button. So I can set my cue point when the CD is paused, hit play to fine tune the tempo etc. And when I want it to go back to the cue point I press stop. Now I notice the MK3's don't have a stop button. So, do I play and pause to get my cue point set (using the jog wheel) and when I want to test my tempo do I have to hold down cue to play the track or can I press play and then hit cue to stop it at the cue point I set? From what I can make out if the track is playing and I hit pause then a cue point is set where the track is paused (the same as the Axis 9).

Get this.

I've just checked out my Axis 9's and it turns out I don't have a stop button! I've only been using them for around 3 or 4 years. It's just the cue button so it seems like the Pioneer's are exactly the same. It just goes to show how much attention I pay to the CD deck when I'm mixing tracks
