Sounds like the metal band made a track that is kind of dubstep-y in terms of structure but replaced the wobbling bass with guitars, roaring etc. with some effects layered over the top. Not reaally my kinda thing but I'd rather hear that than dubstep. It's also nice to see metal bands adapt electronic music because as far as I'm aware there is a real hatred for electronic music by metal fans/producers

20th? i can count to 2 that I know of :P

Excluding the growling, and lack of speed (real metal is atleast faster than this!!!), it's an ok track. But compared to this, I'd rather listen to industrial

Well of course real metal is much faster, it was more about the implementing of the metal elements in the song.

Maybe I should turn into smoogie, find all this type of music and spam the site :D

also EDM is the gayest abbreviation ever. it sounds like an American trying to make dance music sound acceptable or 'cool'. even IDM sounds retarded, aphex twin was quoted in an interview a few years back saying that he also doesnt like the term as it implies that other Dance music isnt Intelligent, just as the term 'EDM' ignores organic elements.

maybe from now on i'm going to ask which Early Day Motion people are refering to.. ;)

The music was really great, but the singing was just pure shite. I think the electronic sounds fitted well into it.

Heres another one that i think falls into the fusion of electornic music and metal:

Edi: ...and another one (1:30 onwards):

I did a presentation at school years ago on hardcore dance music, that was one of the tunes i used :P

Infected Mushroom like to throw in some metal guitars and such into their tracks.

THANK YOU for saying this so i don't have to. You're right, both IDM and EDM are annoying, for so many reasons.

Oh yeah it happens a fair bit in psytrance. Skazi is famous for it and Talamasca uses guitars a fair bit too

Sounds awful imo. Distorted guitars and electronic music do NOT mix, apart from a very few exceptions.
