I've been looking at some videos about making hardstyle kicks and on a toneshifterz one, they used and envelope filter to shape the kick and make it sound consistent. I was wondering if there was a good freeware one out there?
On the note of freeware, does anyone know of a good free vst with orchestral sounds like brass (trumpets and such) and strings (not just all at once like individual instruments)? I found one on kvr but the link is broken or something.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know of any freeware as far as samplers go but the sampler in Ableton and in Logic are really great. I personally think the Ableton sampler is a little easier to grasp only because it was the first one I learned. I'm not too fond of the samplers in Reason for some reason(lul).

Here's a link to a free version of sample tank. I haven't tried it myself (though i have used other iK products which I find to be of great quality) but when you mentioned free and orchestral this came to mind. It says it's a fully functional sampler so you might just be able to use the envelope filters as well.
