I read Nightforce writing in his German-speaking HHC-website that the new album of Scooter might become a HHC one. Caused by the rising hype around the upcoming "New Kids" movie here in Germany their next Single will be "Friends Turbo". Tmo it is just a revised version of the original including more of the annoying MC-shouting of H P Baxxter. Always liked the original, because it didn't use those too much.
Contrariwise this may be a big chance for HHC to regain attention in Europe. Without Scooter probably much less people would know anything about Jumpstyle and Hardstyle.
Sample of "Friends Turbo":

I thought it wasn't all that bad until those vocals came on. For all I know it could be awesome though; that clip is so short.
Also, Baxxter has nothing on Storm in terms of annoyance.

And THIS is the part, where things get interesting. Did they only "produce" such a track, because of that movie or is HHC definitely on its way back to the surface?
In some others threads I did point out reasons, why there's a chance this will happen during the next couple of years (changes in radio playlists, faster Pop-songs, HHC-influenced Black Music, etc.). I went to a 90's party 2 weeks ago and for the first time ever they played Eurodance and commercialised HHC. Things are changing!
And there is no doubt: in the past Scooter have grasped up upcoming underground scenes and kind of introduced them to the "normal" population.

I see Scooter as following the trends, and being angry at him for doing that would really be a fool's effort.
I really do hope HHC popularity is on the rise (I've been spreading it like wildfire). I don't know if it's the result of the current trends in Hardcore (Art Of Fighting) but I definitely see this optimistically.
As for if it's New Kids-inspired, I'd have to see a link. I Googled it and got this, probably wrong.

Well, this is a part from the TV series "New Kids". The connections are:
1) They use the name "turbo" as well
2) The picture in the sample will be the official cover of the new single.
I guess they will play it in movie's end titles or something like this, due it is not mentioned on official Soundtrack-CD. Will check it out, once the movie starts (April 21st).

I strongly agree!
"Friends Turbo" is bitter disappointment tmo. I wish their new album doesn't become a "best of" album.
This song will be the official soundtrack of the german movie. Release is today and here is the full length track:

I love scooter's happy hardcore stuff. I like the fact they are so genuine; they don't try and do anything spectacular with the genre or anything, it's just pure cheesy happy hardcore with a comedically annoying PA and chipmunk vocals, it really couldn't be anything else and I respect them for that.
Friends turbo sounds like they tried to re-do friends in upfront style with the updated kicks and stuff

Quite sure they are back in HHC at least while it's popular, their management agency and touring company contact me about streaming their PPV concert live on the site, but wanted me to sell tickets for it which sort of was not really something I had time for.

wow I think that would have been kind of cool really, i never really associate scooter with the thing you have going here. scooter seem to me like dune and stuff, more kind of chart stuff (but in a good way) that doesn't have much to do with the DJ/rave scene
