Bleh, piss off man. If we think we can do better than a classic we can try. Hell, we may even think that our version was better, and who are you to say otherwise? [:P]
Or else we may just think we can make our own (crappy) track from a classic. The sales show.

You ever feel this far removed from pop music?
"Do you like Smashing Pumpkins?" "Are you kidding?! I love to do that!"

the thing i never understood is why people could remix tones of songs into house and it was fine, but whenever it would be turned into a hardcore song we would get slated for it
and also why it ok for hardcore to rip other electronic songs and then if someone wants to rip a hardcore song it's not ok?

because for the most part no-one had a problem with house music. when house producers re-do an old song, then it's all just a legitimate part of the production process.
with hardcore, though, a lot of people thought it was childish and infantile. remixing tracks from other genres just gave them another reason not to like it, and another thing to add to that list of 'things that're wrong with hardcore' that they liked to hurl at the hardcore scene every now and then.
as for your second question, i think trev should answer that :P

There is nothing wrong with because the owners of the orginial track have to give permission to do before they can release it... so if it's cool with the owners it should be cool with the punters.
As for Flip and Fill don't worry... all the complainers and haters of them will shut their month on their next track... you are all going cry with joy when the news breaks :)

the only problem with the new remixes, is they are so much easyer to get a hold of now then the original, the original becomes rarer and rarer and most of the time the orginal is the fave

why would it become rarer? that doesnt make any sense.. an available remix would not cut down on the number of vinyl copies that are floating around
"GREAT, JUST GREAT now hardcore will die! THANKS A BUNCH!!!"
