This is a 1993 cover of the original 1939 (!!) track. The guy died in 1997... heard this on the radio the other day, isn't it awesome? So emotional. His voice is epic... I love it:

Take this, Ant Johnson! :P
(just kidding..)

Of course I Know Iz! Hymn!
Got No 1 in Germany after rerelease!
Marusha did a remake in 1994 as well, but I prefered the RMB remix.

Yeah there are many others covers, but I thought they all ruined the song for me... the one I posted is, imo, just so sad, with the story (the guy who knew he would die and didn't even care anymore but just continued making his music) and the end of the video when you see his ashes being blewn away by the wind... and that all this guy, and his soul and everything is all in these ashes, so much but so little at the same time. Incredible!

i've never liked somewhere over the rainbow, original or remixes in all genres.

but this version, i do like. it's simple, and the singing isn't over the top like so many version of it. and it sounds just so personal and emotional

Too much auto-tune. lolololol

Can't say I like this version much, except the mandolin (that's a mandolin, right?).

There is autotune on this?

Crazy, I thought this was the kind of song everyone liked, no matter what they are into :P

It was a joke! Auto-tune is a trademark of the new millennium I think. ;)

This.

Wish RMB would have sticked with their old style.

Yeah, makes me shiver.
I think I noticed once celebrating someone's funeral is part of hawaiian culture. Compareable to Italy, where the crowd applaud the deceast.

@Whispering
RMB knew that their Trance kind of sucked. Propably was the reason why RMB split up.

Best version by far. No electronic version is good.

agreed. it's not a song to do whatever the hell you want to with. it's a slow ballad and should stay as one
