I wouldn't really say that - once you get into it, you do notice how much different it is (but I guess that's with everything). The track with the "Hardtekno" image is actually Frenchcore and yes it does sound like Gabber because both genres are similar! Frenchcore is just faster and doesn't have awful, cheesy synths that hurt my ears, one reason why I prefer it over Gabber. Also, like in Tekno, it has more "roll effects", reversed kicks and lots of surprising elements coming from everywhere that you weren't expecting - therefore (for me) it's more interesting to listen to :) And it's also the image of the genre. Gabber has a very bad social image (not a wonder with all the chavs) whereas Tekno is more for normal people! Perhaps normal people didn't want to have anything to do with Chavs that's why they invented a new genre, which is similar but still has a different name and image :P long live tekno!

Didn't know they use melodic samples in Frenchcore. Allways kept it in mind as an extreamy minimalistic genre since I visited an event including Frenchcore after the Love Parade. I like that track!

I can stand Dubstep in short amounts, but the furthest I'm really willing to go is Fidget or Crack House. (Or what trackitdown.net considers Fidget or Crack House)
Haha well actually thats just normal hard tek with a happy mood, so NOW I would agree with Triquatra ;) But a lot of this stuff has some raggacore/jungletek inflluences :)

Too much of dubstep sounds ugly. There are some great melodic, atmospheric and dreamy dubstep tracks out there but sadly very few.
The track Innocence by Nero is a great example of dubstep that I like.

There's something for almost everyone in Dubstep. It's blown up so almost every electronic artist from every genre has made at least one Dubstep track by now. Myself, I love it :) mix it all the time.

I'm ready for Dubstep to phase out in the Atlanta scene! It took over in 2010 and all the noobs are like "YA!!!! DUBSTEP!!!!"...and it's pretty much the one genre that's getting headliner exposure. What's funny is, the majority of the noobs don't even stay in the dance room; they stay outside and talk all night.

Is following track, sth that Revs considered as being Tekno? I have just found it and think it sounds really awesome, how it combines a minimalstic melody with a hardcore beat.
