the euro-beat has greatly influenced happyhardcore but i believe that happyhard should be more influenced by other styles as well

New-age music has a lot to contribute to hardcore, IMHO. I think that the Enya discography is a criminally-underexploited resource, and that HHC would do well sample heavily from such artists. :P

I love Enya's music.. I think some of her music would make excellent breakdown music for Hardcore. Obviously not the same, because that would be cheap, but just the same kind idea.

i really like the nu style influecne in a lotta tracks =) but the stuff coming out on raindance is also nice with all those drums going off

Agree with virus in the less nustyle the better and agree with djyogi that some of the 80's tunes that have been ripped have given us some of the best anthems. I really haven't been as keen on the newer hardcore experimentation that we have been seeing lately.

80s rips have been done, we need more creativeness and less riping of tunes. atleast if you're going to rip a tune chop it up so it's not recognizable.
i want flowing bass lines along side kick drums again.....

i love old dutch hardcore, but once stuff starts slowing down and just geting all filtered and echoed and dark, i dont like it.. its too 'techy' for my tastes..

Well the dnb and gabber breakdowns are great sometimes...but right now it seems like almost ever other track has a gabber/'nustyle' breakdown.
People talk about how this is more creative...well when everyone is doing that with their tracks its not so creative now is it.
IT is good to hear people try new things...and I’m not saying that gabber breakdowns are bad...just that they are becoming overused...I mean if I want to go listen to a gabber, instead of happy hardcore, I will :P
I'd like to hear some break downs with pure break beats maybe...or sample from oldschool; 4-beat hardcore tunes. Would be kind of neat cause it would give a feeling of nostalgia for the people that like that sound...as well as giving the track some character and make it stand out.
In general I say try anything...different...don't just make tracks with influences and breakdowns the way that is the current trend like everyone else does, try something different. If it doesn't work, well try something else.

On this one I agree with Virus The newstyle seems to have taken over and I don't mind it but I just really prefer some breaks & riffs instead of this nustyle. I also agree with him how I used to love the older dutch Hardcore definatly one of my favourite styles of hardcore.
