I need your help with one type of kick.

This one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCmgbtoURfY

How do I make that kind of attack noise? also what kind of distortion do I need for the "crunchy" sound? I can't get it either normal dist or overdrive....

It's a complex process that any one plug-in will not achieve. The sound has a lot more to do with the filtering/EQ than distortion but i wouldn't know where to begin on telling you how to do it.

if you can't get a gabber kick out of the above plugin, you might actually have to think about stop producing.

I have that one and I use it mainly for the bass. Also Hard2Get was right, I got the sound I wanted even without Ohmicide and I know how to make gabber kicks. The question was about the attack sound, but I forgot to mention that. Thanks anyway bro!

You can always throw a snare on your attack and channel it through CamelCrusher with distortion and cut/res tricksing. :P

What are you working with? There seems to be a lot of sample layering in the youtube track. a really short 909 under the distorted main kick, there might be a closed hi hat sound and i'm hearing a ride cymbal on top of it all. It's hard to tell since the sound quality isn't the best.

Izotope makes a pretty sweet plug in. http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/vinyl/
It's not pure distortion but it's free and you can get some good results. Don't be afraid to crank the gain, eq out 200Hz-300Hz 3 db and layer some short snappy sounds on there like a snare or hi hat.
