They got progressively worse after 1, imo.
Well I've always loved the vocal cheese and I think by 5 we saw the end of that and a turn to the more bassline stuff. I think dougal and gammer stopped making their typical tracks around this time which was a shame.
I pretty much live for vocal cheese. I'm a proud owner of all six editions so far. I'm travelling around Asia at the moment, so won't be able to pick up number seven until I'm home in the middle of 2010.
My personal favourite was number four. Insane concetration of tunage on all three CDs. Along with Dougal & Gammer's CD on the first True Hardcore, Clubland X-Treme Hardcore 4 is one of my favourite CDs of all time.
I don't know why I get so fcuked off with the negative press that the series gets on this forum. But I do. It really fcuks me off. If you didn't like three, four, five or six - you know you're not going to like seven, and you know you're not going to buy it. So leave it at that. Don't come and shit all over it on these threads. Save your energy for licking the feaces out of the arse of Hardcore Underground. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of that series as well, and have bought all of them to date, but the anal rimming that people give it on here is sickening at times.
hahaha! =P Thanks for expressing this in such an honest way, buddy. I can relate to this post 100%. I also love these albums you gave props to up here, so our tastes in Hardcore seem to be somewhat similar.
I think you've said it right about the awkward lack of objectivity most people showcase on these boards. HU albums are far from flawless, and like any other compilation, the CXH series included, host their share of skippable/forgettable material. I think what comes into play here is the fact that HU seems like the best, most attainable goal for any relatively unknown producer who wants to be published. I'm sure that's enough to silence a lot of peoples objective opinion. Very few people still hope to see their material come out on albums like CXH, so there's no worries, the newcomer producers can slag it away to vent out.
I personally wait for this next CXH with much apprehension. The 6th one, along with the last HTID, were filled with the latest trend of Hardcore: epic build-ups that lead into a boring, hollow electro bass-line. Songs like these made it impossible for me to fully enjoy said albums because of the amount of skipping that has to be done to keep my sanity. I never thought I would say it, but I want my boring partycore style tracks back in between the total anthems on these CDs! They did a good job at filler material, much more so than the new electro influenced bassline crap.

Oh yeah, Superdiskoteka 90-x!
Wonder why she holds the mic like a hotdog though. Maybe the song is about hotdogs? her hat kind of looks like the paper hats some hotdog vendors use

Yeah man - I'm sure we've agreed on some issues in the past that have lead me to believe we like the same stuff :-)
Yeah, I'm gonna be interested to hear the reviews of the new one. Six was very much as you said - lots of unwelcome bassline ********. Still, there were some relatively epic tunes on each CD, and I feel myself wanting to say that Hixxy's CD was probably the strongest.
HTID 3. Yet to make my mind up about it, but again, it is similar. There's some really, really good tracks on it, but some meaningless shit as well. I was GUTTED to discover that a remix of We No Speak Americano was on there - not even on the bloody 'bonus' CD, but on Squad-E's. Phantom 7 by Re-Con & Klubfiller is a hell of a tune to open with. Loving that one. Also good to see a full version (and slight re-working) of Stay by Squad-E on there as well. It was on the first HTID, and now it's back. Fcuking epic tune.

I'm quite surprised you say that when you have an Executive records logo. Does'nt Executive records tracks sound just like clubland music except more dated style productions. They've released a lot of commercial cheese remixes over the years lol

Joke
Im not buying it because I know there will be no tunes with hard kicks or Old Skool sounds.
There probably won't be any oldskool but I'm sure there will be hard kicks. The Beats have been getting harder and harder every album. Probably just as hard as the oldskool kicks now but just less distorted.

As of time of writing I cannot remember who said about the Hixxy disk being the best on the recent versions but I agree with that. I own all Clubland CD's and if I am honest I never like the Darren Styles Or Breeze mixes just buy it for the Hixxy CD its my guilty pleasure.

Well Executive records have remixed the likes of Christina Aguilera and sounds Trancey. So what is the difference???
If Executive is better than Clubland then it must be better than labels like Junk Box Twister and Future World. Which simply is not true.
