I've heard this kind of lead in countless songs... but how do I make one of those?

Can you help me?

The notation is probably the most important aspect here

It's written in triplet time signature with a mix of 1/4 and 1/8th notes. At least that's what it sounds like.

There isn't a very "Simple" way to make this lead. I'm positive that Showtek would be using different layers, special modulation, and the list goes on... But most Dancey leads are based on detuned sawtooth waves. Most. The pattern for the lead is in triplets, which is familiar with 90% of Hardstyle. Showtek might use Nexus for some layers of the lead, but i'm only guessing. I know that Headhunterz uses Nexus sparingly to layer some of his sounds.

The lead itself sounds like it has a bit of the bottom cut off and a bit of mid range removed EQ wise. There is quite a lot of reverb with a highcut on the synth itself. The synth is based on sawtooth waves, but it probably doesn't consist of solely sawtooth, it sounds like there might even be a square based lead layer in there.

It's kind of hard to tell how to make a lead, as the only real rule of thumb in dance music is detuned saws. If you want a go at making a lead sound yourself, i suggest getting Massive and z3ta (a bit more difficult and less user friendly imo). Sylenth is always good, but i'm using it more for basslines now because there seems to be a problem with it's high end.

Hope this somewhat helps.

Doesn't sound just like a supersaw to me..

A Supersaw is a sound which is very popular in dance music. It's usually generally accepted that it's multiple layers of Sawtooth waves detuned, and run through ADSR and a filter and envelope.

I didn't listen to it all that long. But listen to Starstruck. He knows what he's talking about. That was my best guess. Lol.

The sound shouldn't be too hard to obtain... A more narrow detuned saw lower layer and a wider detuned saw upper layer. Try different combos and see.

Add delay.
Then there's a really wet reverb send.

The sound is pretty generic so I'm not sure why you'd bother trying to replicate it...

Phatt supersaw i think.

If u use FL Studio, heres what u do:

First configure your supersaw. I use 3x Osc for that. And drive "PR" (bottom) all the way to right!
Then in "Channel Settings" go to "ECHO", turn "Fat mode" on, put time to "0:00" and put FEED on max (200%).
Now all u have to do is increase "PITCH" and numbers of "ECH". I suggest:

PITCH: 10%-15%
ECH: 3-4

Because I can't find any "sound-alike" presets anywhere.

I managed to make a very similar sound thanks to cruelcore1. I maxed MODX aswell and that hit the spot.
