i'd say 2 Unlimited was definitely influential. Get Ready for this probably opened the doors for a lot of producers and artists in the US to showcase their electronic music. And they easily drew massive amounts of crowds of over 100,000 in Europe.

I would say at the moment it would have to be Calvin Harris. Guy is an an engineering genius. In the past Ultra Sonic, The Prodigy.

Probably the highest ever ranked Hardcore song in the charts at 2nd in the UK with Sesame's Treet. At the same time, it brought to light sampling and copyrighting laws that apparently hurt the rave scene, so the influence could have been significantly bad.

I believe SL-2 also got second.

However, it was directed at electronic music in general, not hardcore. There have been heaps of electronic no1's. Could almost call rnb electronic as well. Timbaland and Timberlake are.

I'm changing my entry to the commodore, sega and nintendo.
