im not gonna bother getting my self worked up over this, even tho i can feel it happening
fair play to force & styles, there gonna rake the publishing they deserve (yes they do deserve it)
flip and fill can suck my *** tho :) but never mind
and if hixxy or demand have even SLIGHTLY gone less hard (even tho hixxy uses gay kicks anyway) just for the comerical release ill kick em in the teeth,
i just hope ppl play the hardcore oens, not the flip n fill cock smoke-o-remix, and i hope its recnogised as a re release of a "classic hardcore tune"

Silver: i've never questioned u or anythink ever i dont think, but u can't compare f + s releasing the cd single, wiv flip n fill. F + S dint releaase it wiv the single aim to make cash, and anyway it was their original idea neway. Flip and fill r BLATANTLY cashing in, i mean what next? I belive wiv kelly lorena singing? They KNOW teh hardcore tunes which r popular and r using them, to make £££ i mean fairplay to em, its good business sense but how can they say there doing it for love of music?

Midway: do you play any instruments like guitar/piano etc?? Or even sing in the shower? Do you not get a tremendous buzz off playing/singing really great tunes even if they are written by other people?
Admitedly F&F are taking the "Covers Band" to the extreme, but so what, you don't have to buy it if you don't like it. Each to their own and all that

yeah but me singing in teh shower, or mixing there tunes on me decks dont m,ake mne thousands of pounds!!!! I try and produce sum music (even if its crap using a p166) and if i make up a tune thats even half decent i buzz, but its all original ideas, i dont make tunes for the sole purpose of cash infact cash is teh last of my insenstives. If u genuinely belive flip and fill r relasing these tunes for the good of muzik i will say no more, but i genuinely feel that its just to mak emoney.

In honesty I reckon its possibly a mixture. I could be doing them an injustice here, but I reckon they're playing to their strengths, which is producing/remixing rather than writing. So they're covering songs...... but only the songs which they really like.
So yes, I think they are doing it for the money, but they're trying to stick with what they like/enjoy rather than compromising their own musical beliefs.
Another way of looking at it is covers within hardcore. I'm looking at covering a couple of tracks in the near future, because they are great songs, and could really work within a hardcore track, and I really like them. I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a commercial element to my thinking, but in the same way, it isn't solely commercial thinking, its what I like.
Bet I don't get slated on here in the same way F&F did (at least I hope not lol)....that is if the mixes ever get any further than the studio lol

I can understand what you are saying but you have to remember they didn't rip off the tune, they still have to ask permission from the writters of the tune in order to do the cover version, if the writters didn't agree the track would never be released, so the orginial (hardcore) writters allowed this to happen. Second point is that the orginial writters will recieve money from the release, if fact they would probally see more money that flip & fill.... where does all the money go? Back into hardcore... it's a circle but an excellent one! Sure it's a new version, sure the new kids of today have no idea about the hardcore version... but we can't blame them for not knowing...

Personally i dont like these chart versions of hardcore tracks BUT you cant blame the artists for doing it. They will get the credit they deserve for writing such wikkid tracks and also make alot of money.
The simple fact is theres no money in hardcore. If these artists were making enough from hardcore they wouldn't need to do these chart versions.
2002 looked a good year for hardcore but as the year goes on, hardcore is looking worse all the time. The hardcore sound is going way too trancey, the sales aren't as good as what they should be.
Every label, dj or artist is in the scene for the love of the music but love of the music doesn't pay the bills.
Chart versions of hardcore tracks wouldn't even be an issue if the hardcore scene was stronger, cover versions happen in ever other scene and no-one cares.
Until the basic foundations of hardcore are sorted the scene will unfortunately go nowhere.
Hardcore needs:
better distribution
more parties
more albums
stop tape packs
Tape packs are the biggest problem with hardcore, why should a promoter get away with selling peoples music for £20 a pack and the artists, labels get nothing.
Until these problems are sorted you cant expect artists to stay 100% hardcore. And more importantly, why should they? If someone has a talent for writing class tracks such as Nick or F+S why shouldn't they get the respect the deserve
