Ok im sure we all know the song 'California girls' by Katy Perry. If you work somewhere with a radio, it is one of the most over played songs of 2010 along with other anoying songs like Plan B - She said & what ever else they just have to play 20 times a day. Don't get me wrong California girls isn't a bad song, its catchy, but it has no apeal to me.

For some reason she has teamed up with Snoop Dogg.

But there is another song over 40 years old. This being by The Beach Boys who I am not a huge fan of but always liked their songs.

So lets see which version of California Girls (not the same song) people like the most.

Katy Perry seems to be the latest pop 'Sensastion' from America who has portrayed the U.S. State of California as a sunny and attractive place to live with attractive woman & ignores the darker side of CA such as the ghettos of L.A. & the terrors of San Quentin State Prison.

The Beach Boys where the American version of The Beatles. Very big 60s act with the cool 'high school' look and fainting girls.

Sorry mate, but I am not interested into music sung by street whores who had been picked-up by the music factories like Perry, Beyonce, Rihanna and Gaga. Radio stations get paid to play this shit and people are being kept away from other music styles.

wtf? smoogie u r a f**king dumbass. since when did all music videos start portraying reality? and you make it sound like where you come from is paradise. every place has a darkside. she's a pop singer, not a rapper, so she's not gonna b singing about the ghettos of compton

I actually don't like either... I would've normally voted for The Beach Boys but I just got back from Disney California and they overplay California-themed songs to the grave.

I'm not sure why you are comparing them. The only thing they have in common is the name but there is nothing else to compare!
