There are no secrets, seriously. There is no one technique that can make you sound like the pro's. Scott Brown for example has been producing for 20 years or so, that's why he's a professional. When you have been producing as long as the pro's were before they had their first major release and still not getting results, then maybe you might want to ask questions, but even then everyone progresses at different speeds.
Things like multi-band compressors are not important, I'm pretty sure almost no one used them in the 90's apart from mastering engineers, certainly not in the Hardcore scene. Even if they were important, things like that have no relevance unless you've actually written and completed the song. It's just an an engineering process, the music is far more important. No amount of engineering is going to make a song good that isn't already.

So Kev's videos are useless and S&B's are a library of knowledge? I think your idolization of Styles and Breeze may be distorting things slightly.
They revealed nothing as far as i can tell, taught nothing, explained nothing of any use whatsoever. Their "masterclass" was merely an easy plug to them and nothing more. They have no interest in helping anyone but themselves, which is fair enough it's just false advertising. Kev's sole purpose with his videos was to help people make music, not for any recognition or gain. He may not have revealed much in the way of "secrets", but he offers practical advice in a clear, easy to follow manner (even if he is scouse lol) and has helped a lot of people with his videos.

im not sayin Kev is useless. He helped me a lot 2, but with the basics. and after basics u need some advanced stuff. And they dont need much explaining (s&b vid) nor details because they are nothing more than using basics. like its so difficult 2 combine 2 simple synths. i was trying it 2day and its pretty cool.
