Wtf, i replied to this and my reply disappeared? I find it really annoying have to repeat myself but i said something along the lines of: Now you see that's how i like it, the kick doesn't change pitch once during the tune. That suddenly changes everything. Have you heard this kind of thing in a rave before? It's something that has to be experienced to be understood; it sounds absolutely amazing.

yeh, bits and pieces amongst other hardstyle tracks. Donkey Rollers played Chopper at Defqon. I've heard Zany drop Widowmaker - pretty much my favourite hardstyle track - twice. Ace. Also spent a bit of time at the old school stage at defqon.
Tbh, i dont mind other hardstyle tracks, They can annoy me at times but its rarely the kick that annoys me usually something else. However as the kick gets more distorted it usually gets comparatively softer and spread out - very similar to how I found bioweapon's tracks, no thanks. There is a softness limit that I just can't take. If the rave has a good vibe I will enjoy it either way pretty much. Either way, a track can still sound hard even if the kick isnt up to spec - depends how the melody interacts with the track. Unleashed and Fragile both by alpha twins come to mind as do some of the earlier Noisecontroller tracks before they turned crap, ie killer clown - tormented and NC - Shreek. And.. actually I can think of any others that stand out to me other than perhaps Dozer's Legacy.
Also if you saw the stack they used at defqon, it pretty much turned every kick into sounding something like that once your eardrums have reached overload.
