You put it in a CD player and listen to the tracks.

Prepare in advance.
I'm not a DJ myself but I'm assuming DJs know what they're going to mix in advance rather than choose random tracks

how to keep them organized is by only putting 2 or 3 songs per cd. label the cd and put it in a case.

having 10 songs per cd takes up too much time trying to find a song when you play out imo

Back in the day this would have been considered wasteful/expensive but since CD's cost nothing these days (even DVD's) it's perfectly doable, before anyone complains that it's not lol.

Yeah this. :) Having 10 tracks on a CD isn't great if you want to mix 2 on the same CD into each other either. :P

I've boxed up all my CD collection & converted them all to an external hard drive so i play all my music through my PC. It's a lot quicker when listening to music & keeps my CD's in mint condition.

I use a software called "wincatalog"
It helps you to create a catalog of ALL your cds and dvds in one single file, this way u can quickly browse your digital catalog and find any file in seconds, instead of browsing each dvd individually, and trying to remember where did you burn that little file or song u want to hear

.... off course, labeling your cds is a must!!

and if your cds are random songs, do it like this:

radom songs cd 1
radom songs cd 2
radom songs cd 3....
etc.

if you combine this with wincatalog or other catalog software, problem solved ;)
