I want to go big-time as a DJ and need your support, but more on that in a minute.
I'm 28 and have been going to raves since the early 90s. I've been listening to happy hardcore since 1994 and have supported it even in times when most were shunning it away or didn't think it stood a chance at big raves. We recently had a rave here in Las Vegas called "ONE", thrown by AWOL Productions, and they had committed to booking a happy hardcore DJ (name not known) but he was cancelled out at the last minute by the promoter in order to have a more generic genre in that time slot. That PISSED ME OFF!
Now getting back to the DJ part. After my experience with this rave and the lack of a happy vibe in favor of hearing Blood Is Pumping at prime-time (blech!), I have pulled out my Technics, some old records, and I'm ready to stock up on some new vinyl, throw some mixes together, and spin. Besides having a love for happy hardcore, I am fully committed to getting out there at festivals, parties, wherever, and playing the best damn sets anyone has heard. I'm not trying to be competitive against our own favorite HHC djs, but trying to satisfy "our family" as well as break into the ears of new fans and make our industry grow. Here in Las Vegas we have raves every month as well as huge clubs (Utopia, Ra, Studio 54, C2K, Curve, Seven) all of which could easily be set-off with a kick ass happy hardcore set. I know most of the people who I need to contact to work my way in, but where I need help is outside of Las Vegas. I need names and numbers of promoters where I can be persistant enough to work my way in. If you guys are down for helping me out I'd really appreciate it. At 28 years old I am ready to step up to the plate and show these people what it's all about... lata!

I recommend you help out these events you are talking about, in exchange for your help ask for a DJ set as "payment".... or put on your own small parties.

you need to put out the word in your local rave/club scene...that your a DJ and you want bookings... i think that's the best way to get the ball rolling...if your as good as you say/want to be then your name will get around and you'll be a DJ in demand.. you just can't expect anything to happen over night...start small, hope big..
