Hello
The Guide books from my DJ gear say that you should leave 3-5 cm between your decks, so it doesn't get too hot. That's actually how my gear is set, but my question is, what when you've got your equipement in something like this: http://2mix.co.uk/shop2mix/images/cdj800_pair_djm.jpg Are they chances that it will damage the gear? I see there's some space at the back of the CDJs, but no space for the mixer. Or are those coffins/flight cases just ment to transport the gear and then you take it out? Cheers!

i might be worried about my mixer, but as far as turn tables, i've accidently left mine on for 24 hours before i'm sure and they didn't feel warm (although, everything was not crammed into a little space either).
most of the equipment used can take a moderate beating, so really don't think heat is a problem. if you can leave a computer on and running for month then i think turntables are okay too. i have fried some part of a mixer before by leaving it on for a while though, so that i would watch out for.

Agree about the part with the computer. But my gear gets hot pretty fast, well I've had my CDJs for a year now I think, it was always like that but they never had a problem and still work perfectly.
Maybe it also depends on the quality of the gear? My gear is all pioneer and technics, but if Pioneer makes such a coffin for this gear, normally it shouldn't cause any problems?
Well maybe a ventilator helps.

As long as all your gear still has it's 'feet' so that air can circulate under it then I dont see it as being a problem
