What would be the best needles for scratching? I have 2 Ortofon Concorde Pro S on 2 of my turntables (they're not for scratching) and 2 Shure M44-7 on two other turntables. Now are the Shure really the best for scratching? What's with Ortofon Concorde Scratch? I want something that is made for EVERYTHING (scratching, normal mixing, etc etc) but that keeps absolute high quality and that doesn't get used so fast, especially when you use it like I do

Hey, i'm not a master on needles or anything, but if you go to:
http://www.htfr.com/cartridges/ Then their descriptions are really good to tell you the best features of them :-)

i have ortofon DJ Pro S, carts also - they do just fine for scratching, and i abuse them good.
most of what i read on the internet praise the Pro S carts for being perfect all rounders

Are you sure? Because on their site they don't say they're for scratching.
I hear the Shure M44-7 are THE needles that all turntablist use - so I might keep them if they're really the best. It just wonders me because they're pretty cheap, and I always think more expensive = better, but that may be wrong.

M44-7's are great for scratching...but nothing else. Hence why they're cheap.
I have Pro S's like Triquatra and they offer the best of both words: Beautiful sound and amazing for scratch.

get oms if you want to scratch. I personally like ortofon q-berts, these will pretty much handle everything. very reliable and have great reproduction of sound.

I just got 2 new needles for free! Some of the best actually, but I don't know which exactly yet. A friend of me who's a promoter/organizer booked a quite famous DJ last week, and since that DJ only plays on turntables he bought 2 new needles ( since the one from the club are always ****ed ). Which I will be getting today or tomorrow or so :) He said they cost about 180 bucks so I hope they can scratch haha =]
