How exactly is this done??

Ive seen pics of Neophyte LIve and theres a guitarist and sum synths being played, but when you watch it, not much is goin on, also ive seen sum pics of SIMON apex Live PA, and ive talked to him and he says he just plays the easiet parts of the track.

What are the kicks/precussion/stabs being played on?
if it was just a synth and CD ( everything else but the synth), is that considered LIVE PA??

anything else that would Define LIVE would help.

THANX!!

respekts

sam

"if it was just a synth and CD ( everything else but the synth), is that considered LIVE PA?"

If the person made the music that's on the CD then yes. If somone makes a track and records it to DAT that person can go play the DAT and call it a "live show"... well I don't think it qualifies personally but people do that. Normally now a days somone has some combination of : a sampler, a drum machine, synths, and a sequencer and the sequencer plays a MIDI file containing all the data for triggering drum hits and telling synths/sampler what to play and how to play it. And optionally the person can try and play a synth live too. Or (as is becoming more popular) somone can make tracks on a Laptop and just bring the laptop along and plug it into the PA and use all "soft" synths and samplers and the Laptop acts as the sequencer and plays everything :)

It's hard to play live, you have to be good... play the instruments from DAT or computer, and then play the sythn parts live over the top... If you have a vocal, get the vocalist to sing the parts live as well...

It will sound different because it's live and not recorded so I recommend you spice things up with an MC as well...
