Hello, I use Audacity on Mac but I have a problem: I can't record the sounds from the inbuilt input source, there's so signal. I checked everything, and it should be okay like that, but still it doesn't work. I have another mac (laptop) which I mainly use to record my mixes, and on that one it works fine, the difference being that it is connected to the mixer.

Now I don't understand why this won't work! Can anyone help me please?

your soundcard might be the problem. not the thing itself but theres usually 2 options on it:
- volume controle
- recording controle

when i switch to mixing/producing using my pc i have to switch the recording controle from mic (wot i usually ave on) to aux in/out. :) then i can use my mixer.. and visa versa when i wanna use my mic. when i wish to record some lyrics from youtube or some movie or so i have to switch to wave on the recording controle.

This MIGHT BE a solution incase you havent tried this yet. First thing that came up so hope im right bout it :p else.. hope ya find it or someone else can help :)

Okay I see, I'll have to find that feature then. But on the laptop I have set it to different ouputs/inputs etc because I use a timecode software.

You need to tell the computer to record/monitor from the input your using. Simple as that (which is pretty much what Project-Industrial said).

Your problem is that audacity is a terrible sound editor.

Have you set up Audacity to use the correct sound driver/port?

There's another program for recording called "WireTap", and well.. I got "WireTap Anywhere", and selected it as the recording source in audacity, works now :)
