does anyone know what effects unit he is using? besides the kaoss pad?
someone told me it's a high pass filter? anyone can identify? thanks!

btw, a high pass filter is a type of effect not an actual unit. i've never used one extensively, but as far as i know it can do a lot so it's probably one of it's many effects. i know that doesn't help much tho...

It's probably some type of midi controller or something like that, if anything. It looks to be controlling something to do with the kaoss pad, in this case some sort of filter. Sounds more like a band pass filter or something than a high pass one though. On the other hand he could actually be doing nothing with it and just using it just to look like he's doing something more than just using the kaoss pad.
Just for the sake of accuracy too (not to be pedantic), a high pass filter isn't actually classed as an effect, it's a signal proccessor. All it does is roll off everything below a certain frequency at a given slope and varying degrees of resonance, whatever the settings are. It could come in it's own unit/box but typically are the feature of an equalizer or dedicated filter box.
