Hey there guys! I have been making music with FL Studio since version 4. I still find it hard to make as polished of a sound when I try to make happy hardcore. Now I know what you Cubase Mac users are thinking! I do not think it's the program, but I do think it's the synths. I have Albino and NI Massive besides the standard set included in FL. Any suggestions?

FL is a very capable DAW and Albino and Massive are very very good and versatile synths. Just check the presets. I don't think it's the programme, nor do i think it's the synths but your lack of knowledge of synthesis. I don't know how long it's been since FL 4 came along but getting that proffessional sound is not an overnight process, i know. Keep practising, checking tutorials, reading books etc and you'll get there

Avoid the built in fl plugins and your tracks will already sound much better. They're shit. Use stuff from PSP or waves for your reverb/etc.

bare in mind the music is faster so kick samples & perc's etc either need to be shortened as most are made for general dance 140bpm ish or pitched up

With Albino and Massive you are in a position to make good music, there is no doubt about that. It's just a matter of practice really. Look at how long it takes the pro's to become pro's, it takes many years and it does so for a reason. However if you surround yourself with a good knowledge base and the willingness to learn then your pretty much set.
Incidentally i actually started producing with FL 3 lol, although i have been using Cubase for a good few years now.
