Sorry to be spamming so much, but I can't edit my original post cause it's too huge already. I can't contact any of my friends right now cause I'm still at work, but here's a news snippet from June 2001:
"NEWS! Berklee College of Music:
Noted Boston-based music school Berklee College of Music has recently outfitted over 200 computers with the Emagic Logic Audio series of MIDI + Audio sequencers. The college's Music Synthesis department have used Emagic's SoundDiver editing program for some time, and Emagic products can now be found in Berklee's Music Production, Engineering, Film Scoring and Music Education departments"
So Berklee uses Logic now too. I'd like to say this:
"Over 50 million people can't be wrong!!!"
But then i'd run into this:
"Majority rule killed Jesus!"
Heh... i crack me up today :)
EDIT: WOW, i really do have WAY too much free time at work.... ^_^

This guy is a beginner!!! Friken Hell!!! Pro Tools and Logic isn't for him. 50 Million?? I couldn't care if it was 50 billion!! The fact is you don't build a house without a foundation. EASIER software and hardware is was Terry need, not equipment with 2 arms and a friken leg. Who cares about Berklee anyway, this is Happy Hard. And you've taken up way too much forum space on unless info for poor Terry.
>>>>MusicTech
Your just as bad, in fact you started this whole Pro Tools debate. The man wants to jam in his room!!!
>>>>Terry
No doubt, you've heard of E-Jay. Its basically a sequencer and I'm guessing thats what your after: to put sounds together and make choonz. But its not worth bothering about.
I'd try ACID music. The CD is come with has some sample song which can give you a good idea on how it works.
Hope I can help...

"This guy is a beginner!!! Friken Hell!!! Pro Tools and Logic isn't for him."
Yep, I agree. That's why I was suggesting other products like Fruity and Reason 2. Try reading peoples post before responding to them.
"50 Million?? I couldn't care if it was 50 billion!! The fact is you don't build a house without a foundation."
Huh? You obviously are taking my silly quotes way out of context. Go pop a pill and relax.
"EASIER software and hardware is was Terry need, not equipment with 2 arms and a friken leg."
And that's why I suggested easier products.
"Who cares about Berklee anyway, this is Happy Hard. And you've taken up way too much forum space on unless info for poor Terry."
Oh, because it HHC it requires no skill or knowledge of music at all? Sorry, but your wrong. Would having a musical background taint the HHC producing skills of somone? I think not. If I could go back in time I'd probably go to Berklee. And I wasn't the one that brought Berklee up in the first place, again try reading peoples posts before responding please. And I'll try not to "Take up way too much space" in the future presenting points and counter points that are relevant to topics. I'll just let you handle everyones questions from now on since I am obviously just wasting space.
But while I am wasting space I'll just advise everyone to stay away from ACID, it's a joke program that costs way too much money. Get Reason 2 for the same price- it's still easy to use and you can get much more original and "pro" results from it and it will better prepare you for the modular nature of studios in a real world setting in case you ever decide to upgrade to better (and much more expensive) gear/software setups :)
"Meh"

I think the poor boy only wanted to know if he could mess round & make a HHC tune in his room!!!!
TERRY--IN ENGLISH--:
Buy Rave-jay (a PC program available in Game) & then go to their website & order the Rave-jay "superpack" which will make the bpm (speed of song) fast enough on your PC.
If you like it then look at better software (Reason etc), If not then its only cost you £20/£30.(maybe cheaper as Rave-Jay is on sale!)

Man, I've done 130 tracks (seriously - from breaks to rap, and HHC) and about 3/4 of those have been with ACID Pro.
I've studied classical piano for 7 years and I've studied the trumpet for 8. No doubt, a good musical background is what makes people choonz sound, but Terry really hasn't said this, so meh.
Chill, man. Think PLUR.
I agree with foxy - Terry give it a try, but have phunn.

"Chill, man. Think PLUR."
I was PLURRY, till you stepped in and started basically swearing with "!!!!" after everything you said and telling me I was wasting space after not even reading my damn posts. Practice what you preach, and please read peoples posts before replying with nonsense that doesn't apply. Thanks! PLUR4EVAR! Or is HOUSE4EVAR? I forget.... meh.

Buy some drums and learn how to play them. Too many hardcore tracks have the same beat. Maybe if you learn't to play some instruments it would be helpful too as most hardcore producers seem to be bringing out computer generated crap which they can't even play live. Join a band and record your music in a recording studio or at home using a computer. Unfortunately most hardcore producers take the lazy way out and get their computers to make their music for them. This is why so many hardcore songs are so basic and unoriginal, because the makers don't really know anything about music. Maybe you should look into some other music genres too.

LOL, I agree... Too many people using the same Acid loops and unoriginal arranging. I wonder how much money the guy that drummed the Amen Break would have right now if he got 1 cent every time somone used it...???

There is a diffrence between PRODUCEING ARTISTS and COMPOSEING music. I use Pro-Tools Everyday, And I make $120,000 Yearly, not-considering the few royals. And whats so good About Berklee? Yes, It is a Bad ass music college. But what are you trying to say? That people that Grad from berklee are more preped for expierence in a Studio?
I have been Accepted into a Full Time and a co-joined Freelance Produceing position with crystal sound studios and Studio 4. They both use digi-Designs pro-tools for some aspects of production. After being a Intern for a month, it truly pays off.
So hey............If you know everything about produceing music and the talent behind the Glass because you have friends that Graduated from berklee, then right on. Im not saying your a lier, But put my employer in the record books cause we must be the only Studio with Pro-Tools.
Yup- You guys are right........... I did turn this into something that wasn't needed. This site aint for me. You are COMPOSERS. and I want to Talk to PRODUCERS. TAKE IT EASY KNOW_IT_ALLS.

Hey man, sorry. I'm just wanting to help Terry, aiight. It doesn't really matter WHAT you use, but rather HOW you use it.... I most humbly apologise. Sorry also for telling you that your wasting space - thats not cool. Your information is valuable. Cos its that dang'd MusicTech thats screwing around with the vibe around here.

If we were producers, don't you think we would be doing something better than yakking on about how much we get paid or this program is better than that? And if you want to talk to producers go to a PRODUCTION FORUM!! Or start your own topic here instead of baggin us.
Geez....You've missed the point totally:
terry6680: "Say i want to try and make my own happyhardcore songs, from scratch or maybe from an old song, obviously i have my own PC(which is pretty good), half decent speakers... what else do i need? is it just a case of going out and buying a particular piece of software for my computer??"
And what is the difference between producing a song and composing a song? I've got an idea, but I want

Yeah, I'll agree with that. Sorry I "went off" on ACID, I personally don't like it but I'm sure somone could use it in a manner to get great new stuff out of :)
"And what is the difference between producing a song and composing a song? I've got an idea, but I want"
I think (and could be very wrong) that composers arrange sounds into a song, and producers design, arrange, effect, and master sounds into a song. Like a composer would just write out the notes and a producer has to write out the notes and then design the sounds to go with them and do all the mastering work himself. I think...? :)

So there would exist no happy hardcore "composers"??
mp3.com.au/migcrew - track(s) I've made with ACID Pro. I don't use other people's loops (except like the Amen break). I've composed/produced the(se) tracks my self.

I dunno. I suppose there might be people composing and not producing HHC, but I've never heard of anyone doing this :)
