Loads of people buying a song they don't really want just to stop a different song they don't want getting to number one!
Sad and pointless.

i am happy it got number 1, BUT
i still say that people getting annoyed about a chart that is full of shit week in week out is absolutely pointless
its *almost* a sad state of affairs that so many people are so smug that they get a song to number one in the charts by spending a bit of money
when there there are SO many things that need fixing in this country, and our music chart is waaay down the bottom of that list.
who knows though, maybe it will be a wake up call to the people who actually bought it..and they'll make a new campain..
i dunno...govenment spending? ..oo oo i know! tv license!? that would actually have a real effect on everybody in england
christ i could have really done with that extra £140 this christmas
also, imagine if they had chosen a charity song in which all the proceeds went to a charity! (as well as the shelter optional donate they set up)
(and of course Sony and Mr "stocks in Sony" cowel are popping the champaign tonight seeing as both songs are on sony) *addition* hilarious how the BBC are now gizzing their pants because xfactor failed lol!

I bought it - i love the song DMS ;). Congratz to RATM, they donated all their winnings to Shelter so tbh, while it may seem sad and pointless i think it was actually a good campaign. The only person that lost out was that gay, geordie tosspot.

hmm...no they arent, they are donating *quote*
"a large portion" of what they make out of what sony give them..
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1185562 either way, that wont get as much money as if they had picked a charity single that would have been all for charity + the separate charity donations..

I see no problem with buying it, but not if the only reason is to stop somebody else having a number one. Most people don't give 2 shits about the charts nowadays, and it's the record companies who are the main winners anyway.
I like RATM too - which is why i bought their stuff years ago without anybody having to tell me to ;-)
