Im brand new to producing and am looking to buy a new computer and software. Ive neva used Mac before only PC and neva used and software so im completly cluless.

What are peoples general view on it? Most hardcore producers ive spoken too use PC with Cubase so im automaticly drawn into thinking thats what to use "coz everyone else is using it"

Any websites or articles or even magazines that i should be reading?

Cheers

I'd try the demo of FL 9 first mate, you may find it a lot easier than cubase to start with

only hard thing bout cubase might be setting it up properly lol :) other then that its not so hard. read the manual i guess :p that shud help you a lot.. if ya got mates using it then go around them nd they might be willing to explain a few things here nd there. else there's youtube with a massive amount of tutorials.. on the other hand.. dont completly follow that stuff as most still dont have a frigging clue wot they are doing... but it helps to show where certain functions can be found :) bit of experimenting yourself works fine. you aint going to be a top producer after 1 week so just get started and keep practicing nd perfectionizing things.. send it off to other producers who might be willing to give some critics on how you could improve.. theres plenty on here who want to help ya out if ya ask nicely :P

as for sites or magazines.. usually its a crappy article about someones opinion of some program... unless your going to browse in google for producer sites.. there might be something interresting to find about how to work with some DAW's and how to make certain styles or efx.

hope that helped :p its basicly wot you couldve came up wif on ur own i guess :)

cheers

Yea i guess just playing around with the program can help ya find stuff, i mean you cant really break stuff!

Its what the majority of producers use so probly will end up going with that.

Cheers

Do not think like that. What may work for other people may not necessarily work for you. Try demos of every program and see which you prefer.

I'd recommend Computer Music magazine and the Dance Music Manual

lol meatballs.

There isn't a demo for Cubase no, but you can use your imagination with that one. Also check out Hardcoreproducer.org
