ok ill try to explain

so lets say i have a cd and i rip it to my pc...
i can rip it as a mp3 @ 320kbps and a flac at like 1079kbps....
the flac sounds way better then the mp3...but the cd still sounds better than the flac

why is this?
i thought a flac rip was like ¡Ö to a cd..

so why is the compression on the cd better then the flac?

im sorry if this a a noob question but i want to know lol

FLAC is lossless so it should sound exactly the same as the CD. You're doing something wrong.

As far as I know, there is no compression on the CD, it's raw audio, so the bitrate would be higher than 1079. I think 16bit WAV is about 1440kbps, and then there's 24 and 32 bit. I don't know what bitrate 100% lossless audio should have, though.

So yeah, you're doing something wrong, or you have a poor ripping application.

CDs actually have a form of build in compression even in raw audio format but yeah, it's essentially lossless
