I was on here a lot for a while then I got busy with "real life". I hate "real life", shit sucks.

anyways.

I've been working hard on my happyhardcore/eurobeat/fantasy metal/jpop/videogame music project "nvr-ndr". Got some new demos up on my site (streaming from soundcloud) and I was hoping for some feedback from happyhardcore.com.

www.nvr-ndr.com

thanks!!!

its that u mentioned videogame music :P dun really know where to start critizising (spelling? who the fak came up wif a word like that!)... personally i think the demo 3 is the only one that comes near to a level which can be called 'good' which lays between decent nd proper :P so if u work a lil on such things ull get there.. altho the rougher kick doesnt quite fit in that demo.. nd i expect a usage of midi in there as it sounds fimiliar :) if theres no midi usage then well done on that melody :)

dun ave to much goods to say bout the other demo's so ill keep it short to one point.. i read u werent sure in demo 5 (think wos 5) to make that sudden breakdown/cut into a completly other beat/melody... i think u part where u said i might scrap that shud be a good idea. you can do such a think but with the music u produced on that track it doesnt sounds that matching to me.. u just get into the first part then it pops into a 2nd part which is completly diff nd doesnt ave any comparing sounds to it... the idea is good though :) after listening it a lil longer ull get the hang of the 2nd part but itll keep bothering ya where that 1st part would return nd if ya can expect another break like that.. quite annoying to enjoy listening a track then.. the synth in that cudve been a lil sharper nd louder i was just waiting for that to happen but it didnt happen sadly nuff. its asif the track is ashamed to let it hear itself to the world :P if ya get wot i mean ;)

anyway goodluck on it :) dun forget to enjoy making music else ull keep beeing stuck with shit :)

cheers

Thanks for the critique, I'll keep all that in mind. There is no midi files or audio loops, its all straight programmed in reason 3.

I just checked out your stuff, its pretty cool. Kind of like terrorcore but slower. Very different than what I'm going for though... I like your guitarish parts, they are very hard.

its a bit to dry if ya get me.. the stabs you used coulda been more filled up. The kicks you used are totally of the style. they sounds shit with the other styles (ok that mightve came out harsh :P)
near to the end your playing around a lot with the kick notes which is a good thing to do but not as dramatic as you've been doing.. needs a lot of work. yet again.. i really doubt on the ready to go midi use or listening carefully but if you listened to it all carefully then you did an amazing job getting all the notes placed right.

keep working on it :) you can do better

Yo, industrial,

Totally by ear, I never use midis. So thanks for the compliment.

Yeah I know what you mean about the dryness. This is created entirely in reason 3 (except the guitar, which was recorded with garageband.), so there hasn't been any audio post-processing or mixing yet. You got any recommendations for a simple easy to use multitrack audio type program for mac? I have logic, but its kind of confusing... slowly figuring out how to use it.

I am gonna do some way better guitar recordings too, I just did those quick one nite in garageband. Hopefully, the better guitar will fill out the "stabs" a bit, cuz I am gonnna layer the guitar. Also will be recording vocals.

I know you don't like my use of distorted kick drum crossed with the less aggressive stuff, but its kind of part of my style. Its kind of a weird genre-mashing project. I am agreed that it def needs some refinement, tho... Kind of part of my goal with this project is to do the cheesy shit that people are too scared to do but secretly like, which is why I am covering DJ Sammy.

Again, I appreciate the feedback. Also thanx to acidfluxbass for the little comment...

I'll keep posting on this thread whenever I get a new demo up, cuz I like hearing what people think.
