are they for you to know if your tables are turning??

Yeah I never understood what they're for, they call it "target light". Yeah it's maybe so you see the record in the dark, but in most clubs you have lights over the gear, so yeah..
I think it's just decoration :)

The lights and dots are there to check that the turntable's pitch control is correct.
i.e at 0 of with the quartz lock on (depending on tt) the large dot should give the apperance that it is not moving

That's correct regarding the light on the power switch . The other light is a target light to help you see the record better in the dark, it's useful for getting the needle in place on the record faster and also it helps you see where abouts you are on the record.

Exactly.
The one on the power switch has a strobe that flickers. The dots on the platter allow to verify that the pitch control fader is tuned properly.

well i figured the power light was the power light lol
so the other light/blue light is so you can find the place on the record, right?

Well here in most of the clubs there's usually some sort of lights over the whole DJ Equip and there's no prob with not seeing anything.
