I've been on here just browsing threads and I've found a few really informative tutorials, but I was wondering if anyone had any good info on old school hardcore tutorials/breakdowns?
I've just recently started messing around again with FL Studio and got some really good program tutorials along with a bit of good advice from a sound engineer friend. I'm trying to get a better understanding the underlying structures of old school hardcore songs in order to make something that's a little more modern and refined, yet still has that authentic sound.
Some examples of what I'm looking to create:

There was a good interview with Enzyme & Malice in an old issue of Computer Music Magazine that you would perhaps find useful. Loads of good samples on the disk too. Might be worth trying to grab a back issue.

There is quite a few people trying to recreate the '92 Vibe with a modern slant. Check out the production sections on Nu-Rave/Hardcore Breaks forums like Nu-rave.com and B2VOS. Plenty of tips on breakbeat hardcore.
Good luck

To be honest, the best thing you can do is just listen to the style and try to emulate it, all the clues are ultimately in the music. Apart from that, definately check out Hardcore breaks forums as those are the places for new old school production!
